What documents can I use to pick up money in Tonga?

You’ll need to present any official government-issued ID, such as:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s license
  • Government superannuation ID
  • Student university ID
  • Tonga work permit
  • Tongan birth certificate
  • Citizenship certificate
  • Bank debit or credit card
  • Government health card
  • Firearms license
  • CIC Card (Customer Identification Card)

  • National Retirement Benefits Fund member ID card

How much does it cost to receive money?

The receiver pays no agent fees to receive money. All agent fees are paid by the sender.

What is a money transfer control number (MTCN)?

It’s a unique number assigned to your transfer.
You will need this number when you go to pick up your money and also to track your transfer.
